Turbine Engine Mounts.
I was asked a question regarding which mount transmits the axial load of the engine. Front, Rear or both?
On the aircraft i work on (777 and 747) the answer seems to vary. Most instructors i talk to don't appear to agree.
What are your thoughts.

777 mounts
By axial, do you mean thrust loads? i.e. along the longitudinal axis of the engine?
On a 777, the AFT mount takes care of that, via the thrust links. Those would be those two effing great links that connect the intermediate case (on a RR) or LPC case on a GE90, to the aft mount. (I have no idea about PW engines)
That's also the reason that even though the front of the engine is heavier, and thats where the trust-producing fan is, you'll notice that the aft mount is twice as big and has twice as many bolts, and also has those two huge dowels.
I've never worked on a 747, so I can't help you there.
