New Degree At Leeds

Does anyone know much about this new Aviation Technology degree that Leeds Uni are doin with the Leeds Flying School. There is a little bit about it on their website Leeds Flying School - News but I cant find much detail. I heard from a friend that the degree incorporates a subsidised PPL.

I take it that this is an engineering degree which employs the flying studies to validate and reinforce the classroom and other land-based studies? As such, I suspect it has no specific relevance to an ATPL or obtaining an airline pilot job. Therefore I shall move it to the Technicians and Engineers forum.

I think Scroggs has been a little premature at movin this one, as from what I have heard so far about this degree is it is aimed sepcifically at people intending to become professional pilots and so is really quite relevant to wanabes!

Looks like a pilots degree to me, not an Engineers. And I don't know any reputable Engineering degrees that will accept students with only CCD at A-level.

Yes Ghengis, it looks exactly like the Aviation Management degree that the University of Queensland and the Singapore Aviation Academy runs, focussed at the Operations side of the industry - i.e. Flight Ops, ATC, Airport Management and so on.

Could the moderator move this back where it belongs please? We're mainly Ginger-Beers and Magicians in here....

I don't think we have a moderator do we? Given Scroggs rather aggressive approach to any post about Engineering degrees in Wanabees, I doubt he reads this forum much.

"CCD", grief.
