Hi guys,

Does anyone know of a knackered C172N lying around anywhere?

I need a replacement instrument panel coaming / glareshield for mine which has broken off - the material seems to have perished to a certain degree and when numb-nuts used it to pull his seat forward, it came off in his hand!!

My AMO called up a supplier for a price of replacement and they claimed they have to be made as a one off special, with its inevitable cost, therefore I figured I'd see if there's one lying around anywhere first.

Thanks for any help.

Hi 2c,

If you haven't already you could try Paul Nalson aircraft salvage
http://www.nalsonaviation.com/
He has a massive stock of all sorts, from a wide variety of aircraft. I know we sent a 172 to him a couple of years ago but that was a Reims F172F so maybe slightly different to your model.
Good Luck

If you don't have any luck, pm me. I dismantled a vandalised 172 (don't know which model) last year/2010 for an owner who wanted to keep a stock of spares. He might be persuaded to sell the coaming- I'm sure it was there.

If you've not already found the part try JW Duff in Denver, Colorado. He's got anything you need.

Thank you for the replies guys - these are really appreciated.

I will action them asap.

I am trying a repair job - last stage tonight - and hopefully that will do the trick but failing that I'll get onto these contacts.

Again, my thanks.
