747-400 A check

Anyone know, roughly, how many man-hours it takes to do an A-check on a 747-400?

Depends on the content of the A Check which depends on the content of the AMP which depends on the operator of the aircraft. Also depends on who you get to do it.

Appreciate that, which was why I didn't ask for a specific figure! Was just after an average ball park figure, or a rough range of figures, for an article - 20, 50, 100, 1000?!

Depends on the maintenance programme. Whether its an A1,A2,A3 or A4 etc. Haeco in HKG could do them in a 30 hour slot but it all depends on the amount of manpower thrown at it.

Roughly 650 manhours not including rectification. Probably another 300 for rectification including the cabin, which is usually pretty labour intensive.

How about a 747 D check...the figures I have from other internet sources suggest for a European based 747-400 a minimum of 35,000 hours for its first D check (30 days) to a max of 100,000 hours and 60 days for the last one of its life. At a European labour rate of £55 / hour (including overheads etc) we would be talking about over £3,700,000 and 45 days for an "average" D check?
