Identify Bendix Radar Model #

Folks, would any of you be able to help me identify (and provide the model number) for the radar display unit installed in our club 1972 Piper Aztec E (normally aspirated) aircraft? See picture below.

https://picasaweb.google.com/suro.gh...DK9eqi64asqAE#

Looking to get an owners manual/pilot guide for this unit. Our original POH went missing and we're reconstructing documentation.

Bendix King IN-812A Color Radar Indicator?

It looks pre BendixRDR 2000.

I am going to say it is a Bendix King IN-812A Color Radar Indicator. Not definite though. Take the thing out and look at the back. That will definitely tell you.

I am not sure if yours is grey or black.

Part Number : Color Radar Indicator Description:
066-3114-00 Black panel color, 5/14/28 volt lighting
066-3114-01 Gray panel color, 5/14/28 volt lighting

To me it looks like an early RDS-81/82 System!
Contact Honeywell for information.
Being retired I do not have access to the manuals anymore!

Radar

It's the indicator for an RDS81/82/84/86 radar. You'd need to look at the scanner to see what system you actually have. It's the scanner that matters as this determines power output, range etc. This is a two-box radar system, so no separate transmitter/receiver unit - it's all in the scanner.
You can replace this indicator with an Avidyne EX600 MFD and get full moving map display (if you have a compatible GPS), charts, etc.
