Hand Controls for rudder.....Form 337 enough?

Hello everybody,
in the next months I might buy an Extra 300L.
Being paraplegic (FAA CPL SEL/MEL CFI-II) I will have to have a major modification applied to use the rudder pedals. The plane will be N-reg and the work would be done in the U.S. As for my knowledge, an IA&P should be able to do it with FSDO field approval without an STC (for specific aircraft and serial number). On top of all, the plane should keep its certification without becoming 'EXPERIMENTAL' and therefore be taken to fly in Europe.
Question:
Am I right?
Thank you very much for the precious info that you will provide.

Cheers,
