CASA approved B777 course?
G'day,
anyone know of any CASA approved B777 courses as V.Aus now have them on the Australian register. I've been through a couple of AACs including 9-55 but can't find any approved courses, so beats me how a CASA Licenced Engineer can obtain the type on their licence. Kind leads into the question how are VAs 777s and any 777s that QF look after certified as you would need to have the type on your licence?

Nothing in AAC9-66 http://www.casa.gov.au/ame/download/aac9-66.pdf as that deals with the requirements and structure of the new B licence system.
AAC9-5 http://www.casa.gov.au/wcmswr/_asset...ad/aac9-05.pdf does deal with approved training courses, but there appears to be no B777 courses, and no mention of SIAEC at all.
So, is there anyone in Australia who has done a B777 course and got it put on their CASA licence without having on a foreign licence first? Or should CASA now be looking at accepting all courses that are EASA Pt147 approved, whether CASA approved or not, if that is the system they will be implementing next year?

Have a look at http://www.casa.gov.au/wcmswr/_asset...-66annexes.pdf it shows the following courses as CASA approved for B777;
Boeing Training & Flight Services L.L.C (formally Alteon Training LLC.)
SIAEC

On the face of it AAC9-5 and AAC9-66 annex contradict each other, but it looks like the annexes mainly deal with B1 / B2 approved courses, whereas 9-5 probably deals with courses approved for CAR 31. Maybe a trip to Seattle or SIN could be in order then.
