EASA Approved Line Maintenance services

Dear All,

I am a licensed AME. I hold 3 A&C basic licenses from different ICAO CAAs but not EASA 66, I also hold authorizations on airbus types from different airlines.

With some of my colleagues I am willing to launch a small company to carry out line maintenance services and contracted technical handling to airlines in a country in Africa.

I want to know the following:

1- Can I make this small company EASA approved ? if yes what are the requirements?

2- if yes, Do all certifying staff must hold EASA 66 or a local license will do, and they would work under the company's EASA approval?

3- if I want to hold an EASA 66 do I need to go through the whole process or will my non EASA experience (9 years), types and Licenses count for something ?

I would appreciate it if anyone can help with any of these questions.

Thanks,

P.S I am new here, and I am so happy to find this website, so nice meeting you all.

This is the UK guide for licencing and converting of them

ELGD Documents | Personnel Licensing | Safety Regulation

you may have to sit add ons such as electrics etc to get a full licence without limitations, but some countries have less stringent rules on that........ hope it helps point you in the right direction

Thanks Nutloose,

The document is very helpful and it answers my third question.

I am still waiting if anyone can help me with the possibility of making a non EU small line maintenance "company" EASA approved.

Regards,

Cool

Yes you can be EASA 145 approved, no you do not need to hold an EASA licence to hold it, if outside a member state. You will need to contact the NAA from where you wish to get it to find out how,
