Hi,

Could someone please explain to me what the /11b means on this particular engine model?

Thanks.

The slash variant is to show different variations of engine accessories. These include fire detectors(graviner, systron donner etc.), magnetic chip detectors (bayonet or screw in) standard of starter motor fitted, and even colour of spinner. /11 have graviner firewires and bayonet MCDs I think.

During the course of production there was a lot of such combinations, and thus quite a few different slash variants. UPS for example used the same starter on -535 as they had on PW2000, as they had a mixed fleet of 757s, so that was also covered by a particular slash variant.

The engine fitted to Tu204 was also different in that it had a modified gearbox and associated pipework to support 2 hydraulic pumps.

Great engine the 535!
