A320 L/G Door Issue

Hi everyone!

Recently had an interesting problem on a A320 in our fleet.

One of the MLG doors was opened on ground for inspection purpose. However, when the engineer tried to close the door on completion, the ground door opening/closing handle felt extremely hard and would not move at all even though green hydraulic system was pressurised. The engineer did not report any abnormality at the time of opening the door.

Further troubleshooting revealed damage to the bypass valve.

Any ideas as to what might have caused this issue?

Cheers!!

according to my humble knowledge : There's a locking plunger inside the bypass valve that's responsible for making the handle hard or free to move ( in presence of hydraulic fluid ).
this plunger or its spring, might has been stuck or mechanically damaged.
moreover ,this might have occurred due to hydraulic-lock , maybe!

Also quite often the ground door opening cable (teleflex) becomes very stiff or totally seizes. In that case just remove it as per the mel and operate iaw 32-12-01.
