DME torch

Hi,

Does anyone know what 'DME' stands for in DME torch (one with flashing red LED) ?

DME = Distance Measuring Equipment

Flashing legend "DME" in red on an A320 PFD's means that DME is not available.

Did I understand you correctly?

Trade name - don't know what is stands for but not Distance Measuring Equipment in this case.

It's possible it stands for Durable Medical Equipment, US technical Specs which cover emergency equipment, which a DME torch is.

I was refering to emergency equipment but thanks for the input.

I think DME is just a trade name, Thank you all.
