Where to get Licence Experience?

I'm currently doing my modules for my B2 license. I've done 9 modules in the last 6 months and hope to have them finished by April next year. I did 8 years in the RAF and since leaving I have done some contract work, but am currently studying full time to complete the modules.

When I finally finish them all, I will need to get my logbook completed so that i can become licensed. How do most people go about getting the experience they need?

One other question... Can you do a type course without being Licensed? Basically I want some biz jet experience to enable me to have a chance of getting a job in my ideal location.

I'm a bit green when it comes to Civil aviation and the whole licensing thing, so any tips or advice from experienced professionals would be greatly appreciated.

You can do a type course without being licensed but it would probably pay to get all basic B2 module stuff done first. See the link below regarding proposed changes to type course validity next year..

As for being green to our UKCAA, I think most of us are.
(I am still after a decade..).. Variable & inconsistently applied processes..

You stated that you have done some contract work this will count towards the 1 year civil aircraft experience required by the EC2042/2003 annex III requirements. The UKCAA should accept the 8 year service experience for the other year experience for the issue of the B2 licence.

A B2 (iii) B1.1 and B1.3 licence requires the need to show two years experience whilst the B1.2 and B1.4 only requires one year
