Aircraft engineers.
What's happening about plans to make Aircraft Engineers into "aircraft maintainers"?
Are we losing our identity?
"Maintainer" just doesn't have that ring to it.

Not heard of that one.
I care little for what I'm called - everyone is an "engineer" these days anyway...
Waste engineers, planning engineers, tech services engineers,
Were already called Technicians or licensed mechanics in many countries...
I used to be a "Check Leader" what a dumb name. Try explaining that one down the pub - I never bothered trying

There's more coming if you look closely at proposed regulations........
CCCC (or C4)............Computer, Control and Communications Centre - formally the Flight-deck.
CSG......Computer and Systems Guardian - formally the Pilot
PACE....Passenger, Aircraft and Cabin Executive - Formally the IFS, CSD or Chief Flight-Attendant
AVSP......Aerospace Vehicle Serviceability Provider - formally the LAE
With the total reliability of modern communications, the role of Captain will be discontinued and the PACE will refer all operational problems to Base for specialised resolution.
(Don't tell the pilots about this - I don't think they've heard about it yet )
