What's the impact of EASA, ARC and permanent CsofA

I've just woken-up to the changes later this year (late I know, but I drive 'em rather than maintaining them).

AIUI, from September this year, Private and Public cat CofAs will cease to be issued, the CofA will become permanent and there will be an annual ARC (Airwirthiness Review Certificate?). Is this correct? What's the practical impact on owners and pilots of GA aircraft?

you will need to become more involved with your maintenance facility and some will go...........

Its a bit of a nightmare really.

"Private and Public cat CofAs will cease to be issued"

correct they will now come under the designation when they were built, but if being used for flight training etc it will still need to be maintained and have the engines done at TBO plus 20% max as in public cat where if you fly it privately the eng will still be on condition..... crazy isn't it and a proverbial nightmare.......... but now if say its on a school and its used for training those flights are the equivelent of a public cat flight, but if the owner uses it to go see a friend or as a pleasure flight for himself it then is counted as flying under the original private cat...........

have a look at item 12 here

Thanks! I wonder what the implications of all this will be for the restrictions on what can be used for instruction.
