B1900D rear spar cracks
just had an emergency AD come in tonight - all B1900D's are to be inspected within 72 hours for serious cracking on the rear spar, just outboard of the nacelle. Any ideas where it originated? 2 aircraft apparantly had 17500hrs on them when cracks were found.

From the FAA, but I don't know what aircraft / incident / inspection / etc was the origin of the AD.

In case you do not know, I use the Avantext system for my Biweekly Ad's updates on DVD.
However Avantext do provide a free email service ( to anyone, user of their system or not) that emails you a short description of all the latest AD's issued every morning and links to read the full AD.
You can simply register for the free service here.
