ATPL exams - self study, correspondence or wot?
I took (and passed) the JAA ATPL exams 2 years ago, but am now emmigrating to Aus with my family and need to take the CASA ATPL's! (I don't have the hours for an ATPL so cannot do a straight conversion).
Obviously, I'm reluctant to pay for a full-time course again, so are there many of you guys who have got thru the ATPL's by self study? i.e. buying the req'd, recomended books. Or have you done it by correspondence? Who did you go to?
All help is greatly received.
Thanks!

Hi Peg
If you would like to attempt ATPL by correspondence have a look at Advanced Flight Theory www.aft.com.au
It is a well designed course and easy to follow.
I did the full time study option, however some of this is made up of correspondence i.e Air Law, Human factors and Met.
Perhaps though I would suggest doing Aircraft Systems and Flight planning in the class room.
On page four of this forum there is a thread "ATPL BY CORRESPONDENCE" have a look at this as it may help.
