Keep Making Up Stories
Chuck P,
I suggest you stick to creative story telling, not your biased political comments.
To suggest not going unarmed really does show your true feelings about PNG.
In the future if you cant say something good, yu mas pasim maus bilong yu

It appears that Chuck is doing a wonderful job in exposing his true feelings about PNG, something that a top PR company could not do so subtlety. Keep up the good work Chuck and a few of the lads would like to form a guard of honour to welcome your return(might take a few 50 Kina's to grease the way) You can team up with a few other Walter's at the temple of aeros!

Your story about Aiome and Somare reminded me of an incident there in 1962.
The kiap and I,(resident didiman),had been experiencing frustrations with local dogs wandering onto the strips as aircraft arrived and departed. Then one of them was converted into dogburger by a taxying 182, so the kiap really went ballistic.
' the next one on the strip will be shot!' was the edict.
We duly shot a mangy mutt just ahead of a landing DC3, and the local Papuan clerk of Dept Nat.Affairs became very agitated, suggesting 'things will change in the future etc etc'
Well, they sure did - he became Clerk of the House of Assemby in POM in the mid 70's and wielded a fair bit of power His name was John...... forgotten it!
I think he's had enough time to have forgotten it, and my face has enough wrinkles that he'd never know me!
I won't be looking for an interview in the Courier tho - certainly not in regard to my dog management policies!!
cheers,

Grandpa Aerotart
VBitter/Pete,
I crossed a line as far as Woomera was concerned, corrected it within minutes and appologised! I very much doubt you two even saw what caused offence!
Edited because I can't be bothered arguing with the likes of VBitter and Sharpie.
Never argue with idiots...they drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.
Chuck.
PS. VBitter no need to just put my last initial...I post openly and my email is in my Bio...that's so if someone has a problem with what I say they can email me direct! Feel free.

Maybe our very first PPRuNe pet
Well kiddies, it don't seem to matter what we do these days! Thursday night, after what has been described as "strongly overpowering" the contracted security guards at CAA Headquarters, a group of thieves very unsubtly bludgeoned open several doors to gain access to some computer gear in Airworthiness Branch.
Airworthiness has only just recovered from the last burglary, allowing me to finally get hold of an up to date copy of the Aircraft Register. I know that last bit will be good news to Taildragger, but expect a further unscheduled delay before the next update can be produced...
For those who aren't aware of the reorganisation that has gone on in the last 12 months, the building formerly occupied by Flying Ops Branch and the Airport Redevelopment Project has seen many changes. The Airport Redevelopment Project being nearly at its end, the team has moved out of the top floor accommodation, allowing Flying Ops to move upstairs. Airworthiness moved in there too, plus the Rules Rewrite Team, now superceded by the Rules Implementation Team.
Anyway, the reason I mention all these changes is so that those who aren't aware of it will understand that there is a LOT of computer gear there these days. There are also security doors at each end of the top floor.
One of those security doors was most unceremoniously bludgeoned open. One office door within Airworthiness Branch, which is always locked out of hours, was given the same treatment. All of this effort seems to have yielded at least two computers and one printer.
The question that nobody has yet answered is why would they go to such trouble when other computer gear would've been more easily accessible? In any event, the constant burglaries - despite much increased security measures - leaves us all wondering what we have to do to retain possession of all this expensive equipment...
And, no, of course we can't shoot the b@stards!

Sapos ol raskol igat save long olgeta "goat tracks"?
Dunno about that Veg, but there's any number of people who don't know their own local areas! F'rinstance...
Many years ago I was doing a late arvo coffin charter to a place that I knew only slightly. The weather was... well, typical arvo wx but I managed to get into the general area. Had a couple of the deceased's rellies aboard who claimed knowledge of the area and they were busily directing me down this valley and that valley until I finally figured that they didn't have a clue and were only succeeding in getting me dangerously close to having no escape route.
Back to Moresby, put the stiff in the company freezer overnight and got airborne at dawn next morning. In excellent weather, the flight proceeded normally and I soon saw the areas that "the local experts" had been directing me around the previous day. Suffice to say that there was more than one dead-end valley in that lot and none closer to the destination than 10 miles!
Maybe I should've had some of them raskols aboard instead...

TwoDogs ... Rowland Abaijah is the Deputy Director of Aviation Safety Regulation, i.e. the head of the Division that I'm in. I'm not sure if this e-mail address still works, but the one I have for him is... [email protected]. He'll be away until next Friday, 5 July.

Only the office e-mail address for John Walker mate. If you want to say something to him that you'd rather not have everyone else in the office seeing, this address might not be a good one to use.

Pizza's At The Dero Club
Ozex....Heard a rumour that my good mate Ted Kennedy is now serving Pizzas at the Club along with some other delights
There was even a suggestion from another mate in Mendi that maybe these delights are where Ted's votes came from
Does he still have the Roundabout Mazda 626??

Sorry nasa but I haven't been at Ted's Aero Club for at least 3 months, so any information I have will be very much out of date. Maybe there are some more regular visitors there who can give you more up-to-date answers.
