Cool

LOL, Woomera.

In view of Brass Balls' Asian location, perhaps he should be re-christened "Rice Balls!!

How are the F/O's going for work? It's an unfortunate fact that F/O's will always find it harder to obtain contract work overseas, and when they do it is usually with NO chance of an upgrade to the lhs.
My advice - and you can take it or leave it - for F/O's who have decided that they won't hang around in Oz on the offchance that they'll be picked up by any new start-up (IF and WHEN it does happen!), is to bite the bullet, accept that you are starting again from scratch, and join an airline that has a progressive, career type structure.
Captains generally find far more opportunities available to them, perhaps because they are ALSO able to apply for rhs slots if necessary to keep the $$'s coming in, while they wait for the next lhs slot.

As a btw, Kaptin M doesn't profess himself (that's a small "h") to be anything other than another line pilot from THAT year - someone who is appreciative of the ability PPRuNe has given EACH and EVERY ONE of us, to tell BOTH sides of every story.
Many (perhaps most) choose a passive, non-interactive role, and so for the many who don't post here, Kaptin M's views espouse the outlook of a percentage (be it big or small) of those passive players.
Certainly I don't assume to represent the views of any GROUP of individuals - however I believe that SOME of my posts are representative of the views of some!

In conclusion (for this post), the Wayne Campbell's and VB's might find that Kaptin M, Tool Timeand Amos have also had their account removed notices on (probably more than) one occasion, here on PPRuNe.

Hopefully we'll see you back again with a more "refined" debating etiquette and technique.

Well...Kaptin M... and it seems that you and Woomera would like to hold court here on this site....how nice!!!!BRASS BALLS!!! what does that mean!!!...as for the F/O's... most of them are getting into Qantas, as I hear it...most would like to get into Qantas...who would want to live in DISEASED country???...only the desperate!!!...who have... NO where else to go!!!...

There are no oportunities overseas...haven't you heard!!!...there was an event called the Sept 11th...and there is a s**t load of great people with a s**t loads of experience looking for jobs.

Forget the lhs...YOU would be lucky to get the rhs even if you were the "Kaptin M" in your former life...

Kaptin!!...I find you a condesending ..."steaming little three coiler"...especialy when you and Woomera speak in the third person...and please don't use PPRuNe as some platform to promote your stupid ideology, you are starting to sound and look like the messiah from some airline that goes by the initials of "Victoria Bitters", ...oh goodness have I spilled the beans.... all you need is the crown of thorns and you are HIM!!!!....hooorah!!!!

...If PPRuNe is anything... its to say anything you want, without fear or favour to all...its a forum for everybody to express their views...it seams like you have an axe to grind............have you!!!!!

Garth!!!!! where are you......................................................

p.s. "refined debating etiquette"...."What The!!!!!".................

Well, RK's post represents just about the most illiterate comment I've seen on Prune.

Richard, I think the vast majority of people who might take the trouble to wade through your last turgid post will rapidly come to the conclusion (by about paragraph two) that you were unusually astute in your selection of ‘handle’. Richard Kranium (sic) indeed.

I was going to respond - but on 2nd thoughts, why detract (further) from the quality of the Dick's well-disciplined thoughts! (toecutter runs a close second to this one!!)

Please continue, Mr Head.

Unhappy Very Sad Times

Funny how some like to stick in the slipper when a Man's down... Anyhow. Wayne/Richard whoever is quite right in saying that there aren't many jobs out there at present. I know of guys who have sent 100's of CVs around the world and made follow up 'pnone call etc. ect and got nowhere so far. I ran into Sly'n Smiley a couple of weeks ago and he said that he sent about 120 over 9 months, had been overseas for interviews, and doorknocked around OZ before scoring a job flying a PA31. So where are the AN pilots now? Out of about 830 odd a bunch have picked retirement, and roughly 200 have other flying jobs in GA, QF, EK, Air Atlanta, Qatar, SilkAir SQ etc. Some in the reqionals and VB. Dont forget adding to the gloom is that about 25% of pilots at AN (and QFBTW) found themselves scamed by various "Investment Consultants"(Who must use the motto: There's a Pilot born every minute"). THe4e's a lot of sad, desperate people out there and from what I understand only a few blokes are doing any networking BBQs etc( hats off to the guys who org'd the State of Origin P iss up, and 'lunch' at The Oaks; well done). BTW, I was at YSBK the other day and some young pr!ck said to me "so , your ex-AN eh, you blokes are making it hard for us young guys to move on" . Not Nice. Hey M, "Rice Balls" love it !I think it'll stick

Mr R Head

I can't believe I am going to respond to your drivel but for the record and in case you didn't see it before I moved it to admin out of sheer frustration here is my last post in that thread.

Mr R Head and oicur12

eponymous perhaps; ?

I will not rise to your bait and close this thread if that is your plan.

Your comment and inuendo is, apart from being offensive to me personally, untrue and out of order.

Mr Campbell used descriptions of others in his posts on this forum that went beyond the bounds of what I consider decent and deliberately contrived to inflame an already sensitive subject.

Now if you find the use of the word,
OED ....."turd" 1. a lump of excrement. 2 a term of contempt for a person. often considered a taboo word, esp in sense 2.,
acceptable for use in public discussion then perhaps you are in the wrong forum. I'm sure there are plenty of sites frquented by the lesser intelectuals around that will indulge you.

But not here.

I thought we had settled things down a bit and calmed the antagonism from BOTH sides re '89 .

The thread subject is "Ansett pilots working" whatever and however their trials and tribulations their plight should ever be a lesson to us all that "lifes like that" and the only gaurantee that you have when you are born is that you will die sometime, the rest is up to you.

Personally I am having difficulty finding the time to spare to deal with this... OED crap 1.(often as in int. nonsense, rubbish (he talks crap . 2.faeces. verb intr. (crapped, crapping) defecate . Usually considered a taboo word.....

It would be much simpler were we to just go away.

Go figure.
What effect did that have .......yet another post from one of your persuasion, or side of the fence in a similar vein.
And yes I not only closed but moved it from the eyes of those who might draw the conclusion that the denizens herein were a bunch of intelectual dwarfs.

Just for the record ONCE AGAIN I do not, nor ever have worked for QF, AN or TN therefore had no direct involvement in '89, beyond that of being an Australian citizen living in Australia at the time AND have binned Kaptin M as well.

I don't have a side of the fence other than trying to moderate decent civilised posting from mature individuals about whatever.

..."steaming little three coiler"
does not, at least in my world and this forum qualify in that regard.

Good day and good riddance.

The argument that the returnees of 89 were the less tallented pilots of the dispute is a flawed argument.

Some of the non returnees were doing Oz aviation a favour by not putting their mitts on an aeroplane again. Unlike Kap M, I will not use initials or nick names to point out said individuals.

My point - scabs and 89ers are probably just as good/bad as each other in the cockpit.

Woomera, could you please point out what exactly WC said that was so offensive. I do not recall him naming names (unlike others above).

Oicur12

Your point about good uns and bad uns in regard to piloting skills on both sides is well made.

Inso far as W C is concerned.
I'm not going to be drawn into a tit for tat, but reread the first dictionary definition. This was applied generically to the other side and the tenor of the post amongst other things was unacceptable here.
I would and have done as much to the "other side" in what is an unwinnable situation if indeed I was looking for a winner.
That's not my job, my job is to attempt to keep it civilised for everyone.

I'm not perfect but I'm the best we've got around here for the moment.

amos2

I hope that you have your tongue firmly in your cheek, with that question.? but if you are still truly perplexed email me for a translation.

The grapevine has it that the following are off to Cambodia to start with a new airline, Mekong, using A320 aircraft:

captains: P A, A O, R D, D P, R D, T E.

FO's: G N, S W, M F, M L, K K.

Phnom Penh is one of the last "wild west" frontier towns around (which definitely will NOT suit a couple of the above captains), where money talks!

Kaptin M you know the rules W

Kap M,

Not only is your information incorrect but it is proof (unless Woomera does something shortly) that pprune is very biased.

I have never named names on pprune - I could start with yours Kap M.
