Logging on this morning I find that PPRuNe has a grand total of 49,994 worldwide members.

Now that's an audience.

Who will be member # 50,000?

Smile

Seems an eternity since I registered. I think there was only the "Rumours and News" forum then.

Cool

Our "newest member", 50,000 seems to have mastered the art of bolding and "Smilies" at a very early stage in his life!!

Just another number

That's a good point KM.

I was going to throw a few smilies in, but thought that would suggest that I'm just another user with more than one name...

So how many members are there really?

50,000 registered users equals how many individual ppl?

come-on folks, lets get some idea.
Personally I have two Identities, but I'm posative I'm not alone there...

lets get some feed back as to how many alias' the "average" user has...

KM?

Woomera? surely you would have at least 3...

Air ace?

Is Don?

My guess is about 25,000 actual members...

Back when I achieved a brief moment of notoriety as being Member number 10,000 (or thereabouts), I think Danny pointed out that the numbering system did not take account of user names that had been deleted. Deletion usually occurs when an email to a member bounces due to invalid email address.

No doubt there are "multiple personalities" in PPRuNe - some are very obvious!

I don't think the number of Members is that important. The important statistic was given some time ago - something to the effect the PPRuNe Bulletin Boards receives over 1 million "hits" per day (or some such astronomical number), making it one of the most popular private Bulletin Boards on the Internet. I can only assume all those un registered Members in Dunnunda at least, include the media, airline management and many CASA staff!

Indeed an incredible feat from a humble beginning only a few years ago!

Perhaps Danny or Towers may care to post the average number of daily "hits"?

I was going to post a reply about how there is no such a thing as Multiple Personality Disorder, but we couldn't agree on the wording......
