Name a Virgin 737 !!
How do you fancy naming one of Virgin Blue's brand new 737 aircraft?
If you think you've got a great name and you'd like to see it up in the air on a Virgin Blue plane, take part in our "name the plane" competition.
We're expanding our fleet, so we'll need lots of witty, fun and sexy names for our new planes. That's why we've launched a national "name the plane" competition.
So what's in it for you and how do you enter?
Here's the deal.....if you come up with a name we love, you'll win 2 return flights to a Virgin Blue destination from the closest Virgin Blue port to your home(Terms and conditions apply). We'll also make sure that you're offered the chance to fly on the very first flight that the aircraft featuring your creative genius, flies within Australia.
To give you an idea, here are some of the names that our existing fleet of aircraft go by:
Sassy Sydney Tropical Temptress Tassie Tigeress
Brizzie Lizzie Peek-a-Blue Jazzy Blue
Smurfette Blue Belle Betty Blue
Baby Blue Mellie Melbourne Barossa Babe
When thinking up possible names, you should try to keep in mind that the aircraft could be :
(1) Related to a destination Virgin Blue flies to (ie, Brizzie Lizzie) OR
(2) Related to the word Blue (ie, Peek-a-Blue, Smurfette)
(3) Must be female - The name is written underneath a picture of the Virgin Blue Maiden.
So, if you've always wanted to name a plane, now is your opportunity!
Good luck!

I was just considering locking this thread as the naysayer King Canutes like oicur12 are out in force.
But seeing your and Chuckles fun posts I'll keep it going, but if the standard of posting doesn't continue to improve.....
While I'm on the subject, I don't have anything to do with either Virgin or QF, but I find it tres amusent that there are still people out there who do not believe that VB are a legitimate airline, despite all of the evidence to the contrary and the fact that they hold exactly the same standard of HCAOC for their B737 domestic ops as do QF.
Hang on, I get it now, there are many classes of HCAOC, good ones, not so good, slightly dodgy, a lot dodgy, really excellent, elephant stamp ones for being able to colour in between the lines ..............gosh it's so hard now to be a passenger trying to work out which one of those is which and which one I should fly.
