Post Steve Fossett tries 3rd attempt to circumnavigate his baloon around the world.

Heard on the news this morning that Steve Fosset will try for the third time to fly solo around the world in his baloon.

Apparently he will launch in June if things look good which he tried to do from Kalgoorlie the last time before moving to Northam after frustrating winds hampered his launch.

After such a warm reception and launch conditions so good at Northam, he will use Northam again from the beginning because of the more favorable weather conditions.

I'll be there again with my sleeping bag and thermos.

I can recommend the effort to get there as it is a spectacular sight.

I might even try and get a PPRuNe badge on board.

Gaunty,

If you want some Pprune company please respond with an email. I missed it last year due to work commitments.

What an awesome sight and atmosphere it would have been.

What a perfect opportunity for a mini WA bash!

I'll probably fly up as every time I drive through that place I manage to get my photo taken.

warning to all - if driving to Northam, be very careful of the stretch from Bakers Hill all the way into town as the local cops have a fairly vast AO.

Come on Ppruners who live around Perth, come and have a mini bash as Islander Jock has suggested.

Now there's Gaunty, Islander Jock, and oh me, Elevator....there surely are more. Windy could come too.

Should any interested parties want to email, I can coordinate something. I will need to find out Steve Fossets arrival date for a start and work out a possible date for the official launch.

Stay tuned Ppruners for the updates.

Over and out.....Elevator
