Virgin Blue Air Cargo
Have heard various banter on the tarmac lately that DJ (Mr Corrigan) is about to ramp up a night freight operation to go head to head with AAE, utilising existing AN Cargo facilities, staff, and a couple of Boeing freighters. Anyone else heard similar or got a bit more concrete info?
Whispering "T" Jet
Independant Air Freighters (VH-RMX) have had "talks". Nothing more than that on the grapevine. AaE getting another 727 (VH-RMV) end of the month so Chris will have some stiff competition in the freight arena.

A Sunshine Coast Operator having access to Brasilia's is a consideration.
Surprised a few more haven't noticed this one.
Talks apparently a week on Wednesday.
Kept under wraps due to finalisation of details.
The Jet Op is with someone else for the heavier Freight uplifts.

Well, AAE has a lot to answer for, service-wise.
The company Mrs. Jarse works for (a large geotechnical engineering concern) are having serious regrets after changing from TNT to AAE. When they were with TNT, their satchels/freight almost always arrived next day. AAE, when they tendered for the contract guaranteed next day delivery.
Sadly, almost all their stuff now arrives 2nd or 3rd day on AAE. When Mrs. Jarse rings AAE chasing urgent consignments she is met by generally rudeness and indifference from the other end of the phone. NOT a good way to do business IMO. Don't incur the wrath of Mrs. Jarse, AAE. You will lose
Needless to say, AAE are about to lose a significant customer.
Bring on DJ freight!

I doubt if the owners of Australian air Express*, Qantas (50% share) or Australia Post (50% share) wants to sell to Patricks.
I think the only way Patricks will get into the market is with VB or another carrier.
Cheers

Just a bit more, heard that a well established night freight operator are having talks to try stitch up a deal. Unfortunately, I can't elaborate too much more than that. Time will tell.
