As someone earlier said (in as many words), the very fact that banning mention of 89 is being seriously (is it?) considered is enough reason alone to resist. If it is so widely and regularly debated, surely its banning will reduce the reason for Pprune’s being.. .. .And how would it be done? Is the program to be changed to filter all mention of certain key words? (89, ’89, 1989, dispute, scab, Ansett, hero…………..). .. .Or would transgressors be blacklisted if they slipped in a mention of the dreaded event? Considering the 1,200 or so 89ers in the world, the ranks of Dunnunda contributors would take quite a hit.. .. .I’ve said it before and many others have said the same thing – if it upsets you so much, skip to the next thread. I do it all the time, and I don’t start calling for threads that bore me to be banned. I really don’t understand why it upsets people so.
