Question AN workers entitlements guarantee

Now here's a little thought for those who favour conspiracy scenarios.
Little Johnnie has stated that a levy of $10 per ticket will be imposed to pay AN workers entitlements. He has also stated that the Aust Gov't will take all available action through the courts to ensure that ANZ meets the same entitlements.
If the court action is successfull, will he then write a ten-buck refund cheque for all the travellers who got slugged the levy? I think not. It would probably just go into consolidated revenue as a windfall for the gov't - and I'm not even going to stick my toe into the GST implications.
Surely it would be fairer if the Gov't just paid the entitlements straight up and then - if the lawsuit proved unsuccessful - reimburse themselves with the levy? Or am I just a hopeless romantic?

Thumbs down

Mmmm, so yet once again the Australian public are being FORCED to subsidise the follies of the Fat Man and the Dirty Digger in conjunction with foreigners via the Government!

I'm NOT against the employees getting (some) of their entitlements, however the money SHOULD come by selling off whatever remains of Ansett's assets, and a thorough investigation (and confiscation if found guilty) of any revenue obtained underhandedly, by principals and management.
Why should Ansett's assets remain untouched, when workers NEED the money NOW!

Airport tax, GST, Ansett tax...where will it stop?

Yeah good one Victor Hotel - unfortunately you can take the tin foil hat off now.

John Howard said that if it came to the Govt getting money back t from Air NZ then the money will be returned to the community.
