Thumbs up ANSETT Thanks QANTAS.

I have recently been told a few stories about Qantas going the extra yards to get Ansett staff back to their home bases. Some stories were particularly touching.Res checkin , CSOs Pilots and F/As
Thank you for the great kindness shown to these people.
Thankyou to the captain that wouldnt leave Melbourne for Sydney until the Ansett pilots wife and baby were on board. I am not a terribly religious man but God bless you and all all those who think like you. The world would be a better place with more of your kind !!. THANK YOU QANTAS.
WELL DONE.

So very true, believe the skipper of a 747 out of AKL got three AN pilots out of AKL. one of them to PH. Apparently been there doing 747 training. No tickets but status upgraded to get them home.
Well done QF.

Cool

A QF engineer friend of ours rang us from DPS on Friday night waiting to get a flight back to SYD. He told us that on all the QF flights, they were onloading AN staff BEFORE any QF staff.

Thank you. Your continuing support gives us cause to carry on the fight.

I've heard An staff in AKL doing OCB were denied travel on ANZ with their "positive space" tickets. Apparently, the tickets were considered worthless by ANZ staff & torn up stranding the staff!

Since the closure, we have had a policy to upload all AN staff, even if it means using crew rest seats (both tech and cabin) and spare jump seats both in the deck and the cabin. I believe we have uplifted a heap of AN staff.

Thumbs up

Anyone who was an 'Aussie' would have done the same as QF. It's just not cricket (although we've heard that from the other side of the Tasman before!)

Just before we get into too much Kiwi bashing here let me mention a couple of Aussie disasters that took plenty of Kiwis down with them. HIH and OneTel and dare I mention Christopher Skase and Alan Bond.

Cheers Skol and you can add QANTAS to that where they helped the Kiwis out when QANTAS NZ keeled over by sending over Aussie aircraft with Aussie crews who are now flying NZ domestic routes while kiwi crews are on the dole.
Just shows there's no justice either side of the ditch.
