Question Hazo, carry pax or be on time ?

After an air return to Sydney, our pax were to be moved on to a Hazo flight. Ops were told that they had closed the door, not yet started engines but would not re-open it again to put all the pax on. The thing was...the Saab was completely empty. NO pax. Our ops were told that it would spoil the on time performance if they halted the process.

What's going on ? Why are we paying (tax payers) for them to fly empty, when the people who are actually keeping them in the air (tax payer) are sitting in the terminal waiting. Haven't they in effect already paid for a ticket ?

Can anyone shed some light on this.

I think the skipper should have hi a$$ kicked for that, i mean i think managment would prefer you to be late with pax, than be on time with noone.

[quote]what do you mean the tax payers are paying to fly them empty?. .

I don't know anything about the subsidy to help outer communities, but the govt has exempted regionals (below 15,000KG as far as I recall) from paying charges to Airservices, so at least one 'subsidy' is still operating.

Talking

As an aside Hazo's were doing just fine on their own prior to AN getting involved. Not making much but not losing any.

As for the connecting flight spoken of, Hazos are now down the other end only with Virgin, and is there any reason why they would do them any favours.

Completely empty........yeah right!
