Angry Essendon Airport - Whats the real story?

I have been hearing and reading all sorts of rumors in the last few weeks can any fellow ppruners tell us exactly what is going to happen???

1. Landing fees increasing to $80.
2. Rental increasing significantly.
3. Fox now going to plan "B" since Liberal Party won the election!

Can anywone shed some light on the facts???

I can confirm the proposed rent increases are correct. Landing fees are also set to increase, but I can assure you, not to the extent of $80 as mentioned.

As for changes to date, the introduction of mancharuian pear trees upon entry into the airport will make for a nice view!

The $80 landing fee was proposed by Linfox and put to the Essendon Airport Chamber of Commerce. Even for C-152's!!! From what I understand the proposal was shown to be rediculously outrageous, as it indeed is. Linfox have proposed everything from shortening all runways to half their length, to removing one of the runways all together. I heard they virtually just walked in one day and said, "We're going to close one of the runways, which one do you want to keep?"

The way things are at Essendon at the moment, they might as well close the place. Tumble weeds aren't good for the turbines anyway.......H...
