Air Nelson Metro's
What does the future hold for the Metro's currently in service with Air Nelson ?? Heard recently that Air Nelson would not be renewing about 20 or so contracts, are these the Metro crews ??

Had heard that they are getting another (possibly 2 SAAB's) and that the permanent contract guys from the metro would go on to them. The temporary contract guys may be out of work, when the metros are phased out.

Are you suggesting that for a Kiwi to do well they must leave NZ to gain experience before returning, or they should stay away permanently ??
I strongly beleive that if there is a Kiwi that can do the job in NZ then they should get the job over any other nationality.

Bootie,
I agree whole heartedly.
I would take that one step further and say that if there is a job in Australia that an Australian can do be it aviation or otherwise, include Bondi sandoligists on the dole, then an Australian should get the job and the dole!!!

Well, with 5(+/-) SAAB F/Os resigning (temp contract) this week to go to Origin (J-41),They (Origin) must be laughing, good handlers and the best of training....I'm sure management can't understand why....
Maybe some F/Attendants as well??
Maybe there might be more jobs for Aussies.....
Happy New Year!

The KD FO's start in 2 weeks. Two day ground school in SYD. Then a couple of SIM's to get the KIWI into their blood followed by a check. I hope the Check Cpt has'nt been watching the cricket, otherwise they are in reel trouble.
For all of the KIWI's don't stress. We are not going to part the Tasman sea and create a biblical march to the land of the long white cloud.
You can't retrain driver's via the cereal packet. So during the transition it's more cost effective to have contractors to fill the roster.
There are 8 KD CRJ driver's on their way to the UK currently for just this same reason. A six month contract with British Europeon on the CRJ while they sort out if they want to kept the RJ's or not. No point spending money on crew if you don't know if it is a long term thing or not.
They will be back before Christmas, I promise it won't hert. They know what they are doing, trust me.
They will be in and out before you know it. They won't even touch the sides!
You probably need a couple of Ozzies to tame that dogdey A model we sent you any way.
