VB - No free ride for Air Marshals
It has been reported (SMH 1/1/02) that Virgin Blue are unhappy about bearing the cost of seats for Air Marshals with the Fed gov't not commenting on whether Air Marshals are being carried on DJ flights.
Fair enough, why would you want to carry an Air Marshal that has been professionally trained to intervene in a hijacking when you could sell that seat to a punter for 5 bucks?
Let's just hope the Fed gov't remind DJ as to who's underwriting their insurance liabilities regarding terrorist attacks, without which, another airline would not be flying the Australian skies!
Sometimes you gotta just scratch your head and ponder; why?
