They better do something in NZ soon.
In this time of pay freezes, rumour has it the NZ operation is costing Qantas up to $500,000 a day.
This is because of the leased aircraft as well as too many flights for the available market, and obviously very poor loads.
Apparently Qantas want to keep a strong presence there in case Air NZ have more problems.

Proplever I guess that's why they are busy promoting and training Captains to be Training and Check Captains. Just because they want a huge surplus of said qualified chaps?

Chuck.

All this talk of B1900's being parked up, and more 717's. At the moment nothing has been confirmed by QF management. That being said, there is 15 current 717 capt's being promoted to training capt in anticipation of 6 717's coming from TWA.

As for the 1900's, Capt's are also being promotes to training and checking positions to cope with the loss of what is believed to be 25 1900 crew in Feb, and more to follow as the aircraft are due to arrive.

Not rumours guy's, fact. And if you dont like to read news about Impulse/QF, go to a different thread...... ******S

Well it seems almost definite new 717s will come online. I have heard 6, 7 and 10 from various sources.

However given they WILL come, no-one has been definite on the routes they will take. Surely this must have already been decided. The only "probability" is a couple based CBR to replace Southern 146s. But that's certainly not 6-10 717s. Where else?????

And your probability ADL man is just a dream - 717's won't be replacing the 146's in Canberra.

You guys at Impulse just never let up do you. What a great job you have, and have done for aviation in Australia. Lower wages, training bonds, and egos that are second to none. If it wasn't for QF you would be out of work. Instead of sprouting to the world what extrodinary pilots you are, how about a bit of humility in the face of recent events. You never know if it will be your turn next, the last twelve months have shown that, and that is a fact.......

Question

I just wonder where all this will leed. So many new aircraft being brought in. Six months ago the market couldn't stand what it had. In the next 12 months we are going to have VB, AN II, QF mainline, Impulse, AA and god knows who else, all bringing in heaps of extra capacity.

Somethings gonna give, and give big! This market cant support this in my opinion. I wouldn't feel to secure boys, nomatter who you work for.

Red face

SL,

Last time I looked a QLink line CP B1900 eaned $57,000 +exp, and the FO's $35k +exp. (figures found from another thread). There is no up front cost for training, only a training bond which is common amongst most regional airlines. In the 19 seater, market I beleive thats fairly good, if not the highest paid in OZ, with a probable jet job down the track. Rumour or fact??? Go figure!!!

Skin Chimney,

you are right on all points except wages, B1900 line Capt $55,220 + allow, Line FO $35,000ish + allow

6% extra duty SBP
8.5% Training Capt
2% for each of the five check approvals

Capt can earn up to $65,435 with full check and training approvals without being a senior base pilot (SBP)

Also 6 1900 pilots going to USA next week for 717 conversion, more to follow next month.

Speedlever and, perhaps more infamously Proplever have now both hopped on the VQ bashing bandwagon with what can only be described as some of the most asinine insults and accusations pprune has ever been witness to.

Have a close look at the posts you ascribe to Impulse staff and search for two things:

1) Any body who actually explicitly says they are an Impulse staff-member (there are none).

2) Any supposed Impulse employee who does anything other than put forward widely recognised and fairly logical ideas about the future of VQ, QF and Australian aviation based on current facts (equally, there are none).

I would imagine that every person who works for Impulse would have close friends or even family in Kendalls, Hazos, Flight West and/or Ansett who are now unemployed and the significance of this and the widespread lack of stability in aviation could not possibly be lost on any of them. I bet they're as scared of involuntary redundancy/ unemployment as the next bloke.

The old saying goes: "If you've got nothing intelligent to say, then say nothing". I suggest you both apply this maxim to your pprune contributions, because every post you've made so far adds to the impression that you lack intelligence altogether.

Wink

Thank you 2daddies.
I am an Impulse staff member and I have read the afore mentioned prop and speed levers vitriolic, uninformed and nasty posts aimed at myself and my co-workers.What made you two so angry anyway?
Not that I care as I am as aware as everybody else that has read your posts just what lever you two have your hands on.
Qantas is sending another group of six to do their endorsements next week, which I am sure they are doing just for fun as these crew are not required for current line flying.

There is alot of sense in what speedlvr says.

Some of you losers carry-on like like impulse is this terrific company. When really it was started by one of the biggest rogues in aviation that Australia has ever seen.
He gambled on young pilots flying for next to nothing, working them on ridicolus shifts such as 11 sector days up and down the east coast.
Too lousy to provide accomadation in some ports and making pilots sleep in terminals such as Kempsey.
Insisting on pilots not questioning the managments decisions therefore safety infringed RE:2000 G airspace debacle.Yes he did introduce the 717 into the the country, but if he had any intenion to pay for them is another story and he managed to screw all you guys once again to fly it for practicly next to nothing.
I'm not a big QF fan but if it wasn't for them all you people would have been down the AN track first.
So don't carry on that impulse is this leading force in aviation when its not!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At the end of the day Flickroll the Impulse boys and gals have a job and are able to feed their families. It is sad that their are bastards out their whom would love to see Impulse fail and another 250 unemployed pilots on the market.

Just because Impulse was formed by the Jerry there are those out there who still want to see them fail and consequently unemployed. How AUSTRALIAN. What has become of this country?

They are not the ANTSPANTS. The fact you generalise discredits you immediately.

This is a rumour network hence there may be some ramblings.

We all live in uncertain times and no one takes their job for granted. I am sure all the Impulse crew are doing their best for the company to succeed.

Unfortunately speed and prop lever are a couple of hurting characters and I hope they get better as it can't be healthy to carry such hate. So watch out for yourself.

My heart goes out to all who have lost their jobs I hope never to be in their position. How anyone could wish that on a fellow collegue is beyond my comprehension. Watch out for KARMA.

I would definately be looking at Impulse for employment.

Flickroll2 and airbrake42, welcome to the VQ-bashing band-wagon. Thank-you for your valuable input.

How does it feel to be recognised for your unique contributions to the topic? Special? Or is it gradually dawning on you all that you come across as being angry, ranting little people, thus sinking your arguments before they ever get the chance to float.

It would be nice if they had a gesturing hand in the shape of an "L" in the message icon section.

Good to see that yet another topic has been hijacked by a bunch of blinker-wearing no-brainers who couldn't string two words together if they tried.
To all you VQ bashers, pull your heads in. A bit jealous are we?
VQ a terrific company? Sure beats the HELL out of AN.
So I suppose this makes me a loser? (According to previous no-brainer posts) Well, I've got a job doing what I love doing, for better money than AN OR QF were/are paying. So again to all VQ bashers, shut the f@ck up, get over it and stop giving yourself hypertension worrying about our airline.

GG and little mates.
I would suggest that the comments from myself and the like would not directed at Impulse if we didn't have to read "Impulse takes over the world" threads so regularly.

Impulse means nothing to me, neither threat nor do i care what they do. it is the insane ramblings of the little boys in the lolly shop brigade rambling on about a company that in my oppinion and obviosly alot of others, has gained no respect in the industry for achievement. Impulse simply stumbled into a niche market by the goodwill of QF and taken you with it.

Good luck to you but don't be mistaken it has not happened due to the management skill, the superior work force, it happened because impulse were a failure at their attempt to become an airline in there own right and QF saw an opportunity for reasons unknown to snap it up.

The same may well happen to you guys down the track when you think you are on a good thing someone decides they may start an airline, to make it work they need pilots to work for lower conditions than has been accepted by others, was never going to survive, QF says thankyou I'll snap up that too, and whoops your conditions and emoloyment is under threat.

May I suggest if you don't like what you hear stop posting your Impulse dreaming posts.
