Anyone seen the new Panadol Advert on TV?

Easy there FCM, what you see here is merely some professionals trying to protect their profession from inaccurate representations.
What you have seen on this thread is nothing compared to what I have to listen to when my wife (an ICU nurse) starts watching an episode of ER, All Saints or in the dim past The Flying Doctors.
You just have to understand where it's coming from. It may be alright for the rest of us to say it's just make believe but when you actually do the work being portrayed it can be quite insulting if the job is trivialised.
Now if you don't like the life the contributors of this thread have, go and get one of your own.

Very perceptive Lear23...and being the chat addict that I am, I recall a young female pilot with RFDS based at YMEN being on about 2 or 3 weeks ago....wouldn't at all surprise me if this is her (just a theory )

Sorry to say it guys, but this thread gives me a bit of a problem - I have to tell a couple of the nicest blokes I know on PPRuNe that they are taking themselves a bit seriously.
Paracetamol is one of the most brilliantly benign pharmaceuticals available today. It has very few side effects, lowers fevers, reduces pain without stupefacation or masking of the pain and it is widely and cheaply available.
Gaunty old spoon - you and I have both misused legal substances (if not to fatal levels then to levels where we hoped we would die!) at various times in our mis-spent youths. Most on this forum (no howls of outrage plaese) would have flown hungover, at least once.
Don't take it all too seriously.
Night guys.

Yes, what a trivial and truth stretching advert it is indeed.
What an insult to those of us who are professionals, putting up with such gross misinterpretation, every night on TV. My god, the general public are quite mislead by this travesty.
Lets all get together and put our names on a petition to tear this advert from the screen before our reputations are tarnished forever.
Please, its not up to me to get a life and look elsewhere. Sometimes the debate can be interesting on these forums but when petty, insignificant, shallow and utterly meaningless discussion takes place on a stupid advert and its connections with aviation regulations, then I feel compelled to perhaps question the reasons?
The advert certainly does not insult me or my profession.
What insults my profession are those of ‘us’ discussing an advert on TV just because it has an aircraft and a chick wearing gold bars and shiny wings in it.
Thats why I am posting here!
Spare me the ‘look elsewhere’ and the ‘I don’t have to read it’ retorts, its easy and unintelligent and further cements my opinion.
Its not too late people! You can change your ways! Get a life!

Fair cop.
Just got back from 5 days in Margaret River on a quality control survey amongst the vineyards. Couldn't use Panadol on the basis of further abuse to the liver, and yes we did strike a cuppla 'dodgy' samples to which we were able to attribute the unpleasant effects. Deeper and more intense surveying seemed to fix it though.
Problem now is how to get sober.
I still think it's the wrong message, but agree that might be a bit precious.
Which is why I went off on the QC survey to depresciourise

Crystal Knackers,
What is such poor common sense about taking a panadol for a bloody headache?
Never mind the logic of taking one for lower back pain caused by hauling gimps up and down the bloody stairs...
I carry a few Paracetamol caps in my flight bag. Unprofessional? Step outside and call me unprofessional!

I reckon boeing or airbus may find a new angle for this in the ETOPS area. (Bill Boeing)....this is great. Wack a couple of these bad boys into the 777 fuel tanks. We'll get another thousand miles no worries and we'll endorse panadol big time. Money in the bank. We're killin' 'em.
