Angel WOOMERA DUMMY SPIT

I have had to close 2 threads in the last 24 hours because they have drawn personal atacks on 'lame' the thread initiator.

Some would argue that the thread titles themselves, made the initiator a moving target, I would prefer to think that his motivation was well intended but maybe misplaced.
But thanks for the try anyway.

The gist of the thing seemed to be that some PPRuners are taking issue with 'lame' because he is posting articles found in the public domain pertaining to the Ansett/AirNz with some form of 'malicious' intent.

I am happy to be corrected, but I have not seen any evidence of this.

I, like a lot of us do not have the time, or more importantly, the access to all of the media reporting or comment on this watershed matter and much appreciate the broad view that is made available and presented in this manner.

So please don't shoot the messenger.

Wirraway has also provided a continous reportage on the reportage. I sincerely hope he/she has copied it all and one day makes it available in an easily accesible format so that we may all, in our dotage, reflect on the difficult lessons of history.

It is a hurtful, uncomfortable and very stressful time for all AirNz/Ansett and non Ansett staff.

I don't for one moment believe that Ansett staff or Ozzers, AirNz or NZers at large feel very good about what has happened to Ansett and AirNz or that they intended for it to work out the way it did. There were other agendas in play.

So to those that do not find it possible to extend that charity to our colleagues, and I respect that as your right, at least have respect for others views and please debate the issues and not the man.

C'mon you can do it!

Woomera,

Just sent you an email before you posted this.

"lame" has had a BIG dummy spit too......

It is NOT so much that people were attacking me, I am used to that, but other PPRuNers could NOT even be civil to each other on the thread of mine pleading for there to be no personal attacks?

If anyone disagrees with a posting fair enough, say so, like "I think you are wrong because ......", there is NO need to stoop to personal attacks........

Best regards,

a very disappointed lame

Question

Excuse me Woomera, but I'm stunned. It was clearly not my intention to attack lame in any way, nor did I say that he did it with "malicious" intent. However, questioning someones motives should at least be allowed, or am I missing something here?
Putting me in the same pot with certain individuals whose posts peak in most disgusting personal attacks doesn't really impress me. I admit that putting lame's sincerety in question, to a certain extent, might be nothing more than a mere assumption from my point of view, but I thought that I had made my point in my post, without being too personal or even insulting.

Unhappy

Even though there was absolutely (pun intended) NO malice in any threads I have ever posted on PPRuNe, I have just deleted all my recent threads so there can be no problem with them.........

The recent ones were ALL just direct cut and pastes of news items, how anyone could possibly take offence is beyond me, but for the sake of peace, they are gone........

Spuds
Please do not take offense, I had hoped that I had written in such a way as to speak in general terms without picking on any body in particular.

Neither was I singleing (sic.) out lame, simply making the observation that we should, in these testing times strive for some balance.

Help me help you, otherwise it is just easier to lock or delete anything that looks remotely controversial and that would be boring.

Fair enough, Woomera. Might be a difficult task though, considering the emotions involved.

Good luck anyway, I think you'll need it.

LAME,

I would like to take this opportunity to lend you my support, I have always enjoyed your well thought out comment that is obviously based upon broad and real industry experience. Your point of view is invariably realistic.

I hope that this doesen't make you feel that you should curtail your expression on this forum because from what I can see most of the people here could do well to learn some industry realities from you.

Regards,

PrUnIe

"LAME"..//..Don't go getting all discouraged because of a few people that don't think before the keys are pressed and the "post a reply" button is pressed.

You have a lot of friends and supporters in PPrune and should not be put off by the minority.

Please feel free to comment as you wish and post your thoughts for us all to share. Not everybody will agree with you all the time, but, hey, everybody see's things in a different way and will not always agree
entireley.

Look forward to seeing you next post.......

lame - hang in there mate, Woomera - as always you are doing a sterling job.

Dont stop either of you.

Emotions are high at the moment but I have never seen lame relay anything but the items that have either been published or present a topic for discussion. Dont blame the messenger people.

Thank you all for your support.

After being in our Industry for over 38 years, and being on PPRuNe for a few years, I just cannot believe how some people on this Forum treat fellow PPRuNers, and I do NOT mean how they treat ME, but treat each other in general on this Forum.

I need a short break from all this but will return...........

Best regards to ALL,

"lame"

lame:- I hope, in your short break, you still read PPRuNe, 'cos I want to go public with my support for your threads. I don't know where you find the time to gather all that you post, but I'm sure as Hell glad you do. They keep me up to date with details I wouldn't know where to find, even if I had the time.
Ignore all the cr@p, mate, keep 'em coming, I'll be reading even if I can't get the time to post.

Kind regards,

TheNightOwl.

I am still reading PPRuNe, and have also added a few postings to open threads, but will not start any new threads until things calm down a little

Unfortunately because people can post anonymously they say things on this that they would not otherwise say. I have seen this in the 5 1/2 or so years that I have been reading PPRUNE, and after that long, it's time I went to bed for some sleep!
