Anybody know where the Pax stand???
Call me foolish but I was supporting Ansett when I booked for my easter holiday on the Gold Coast.
Anybody any idea where people like me stand??
I booked via the internet using my credit card having the mistaken belief that this included some form of travel insurance and when I checked this morning I find that it only includes life and limb. Are the administrators Liable, does the Government guarantee still stand or have I done my dosh????
Condolences to the staff though. Hope someone pulls a rabbit out of the hat!

Yeah the only problem with that is when? I would still like to salvage my holiday but can't book with someone else until I know for sure I will get it back and that there won't be some 11th hour deal done or I could find myself buying the trip twice. Thing is if I don't book elsewhere soon all the cheaper flights will be gone. Look at what happened first time!

Sitting on a seat in a jet with a Big A on the tail!
As for where you stand? Probably in a line for the check in at VB or QF with dozens of others holding AN tickets.
A very sad day indeed.

Don't the Credit Card cos have a policy that if the service brought is not provided, they refund you, and then chase the service provider?
Have you phoned the CC Co?

Already tried them. They danced around the subject saying they didn't know what was happening yet and when I asked them to treat it as a generic question ie what would the normal policy be if.... They told me that once the money hits your statement, the funds have gone. As for automatic insurance when using a credit card, that only applies to gold card holders and only for international travel or so I am now informed!

Buy your new ticket and a refund will be issued even in the unlikely event that Ansett continues to fly.
Marky Mark and the funky bunch don't get your money until they have provided the service.

Same thing happened to me with Compass 1. The credit card company refunded the money after I claimed it from them. It took a couple of weeks for the cheque to come through though.

So should I wait until operations cease to be sure? I don't like my chances of getting my money back if they do continue to fly by some miracle! If I book before I am sure, I could be up for the loss either way.
