Post Latest On Ansett From ABC Online News....

*Recalled Ansett workers may not be paid*

There has been a breakthrough in the Ansett crisis, with more employees
told to report for duty today.

But it has been revealed there are no guarantees the workers will be
paid.

The latest breakthrough came when 500 Ansett air freight staff around
the country were told operations will soon resume and they can return to
work.

They will join nearly 3,000 other Ansett employees recalled by the
administrator to revive the airline's revenue-generating services.

The ACTU's Greg Combet says it is important to get some cash back into
the business.

"The unions have very clear objectives about saving jobs, trying to get
Ansett restarted."

But a spokesman for the administrator admits there are no guarantees
those workers will get paid.

He says it is hoped the revived services in cargo, travel agencies, and
ticketing will generate enough cash to pay the employees.

Meanwhile, negotiations are continuing over a complex deal to lease some
Ansett planes to Qantas and Virgin Blue.
