I couldn't give a f%$K what I scored in the verbal reasoning test, I PASSED IT. Have you ??
I'm on the right side of the fence to comment on these issues.
With an attitude like yours its not helping the attitude taken by people towards genuine cadets.
With the attitude you take on this forum, you true lack of knowledge of what really does happen with training etc. Why do you bother posting ?
Just keep in mind your feeble attempts at insults are brushed off by me, but insulting your peers, when you are still in the selection stage is not a wise move my friend.
Tuner sure is buddy

For someone who the insults "just brush off", you seem to have taken the post rather personally.
You've also missed the context of the post, which is not a dig at cadets but merely an evaluation of associated costs.

No offence taken, once again I thank you for your efforts in correcting my grammatical errors. I got the correct letters just not in the right order!

No Transition Layer, what is funny is that fact that someone as yourself with no commercial experience bar a nice new, but unused CPL is so quick to pass judgment on everyone, have you managed to get any work dropping meat yet? or is all this wisdom coming from the long hours you must be putting in at the local 7/11.Isn't it funny how people who know the least seem to think they know the most
"Isn't it funny how people who know the least think they know the most."
Looked in a mirror lately Hun my lad? I use to "Drop Meat", also did a bit of time as a bomb myself..Result..That Airline career you claim you want but aren't prepared to work for.
T/L is going about it the right way and will reach his goals long before you do.

The_Hun, I never suggested for a minute that I had any sort of "wisdom", I was simply expressing my shock that a ridiculous thread like this could go on for so long given your track record on this forum.
From what I've gathered from your previous posts, you are either an extremely naive young bloke with no real idea about how this industry works, or someone looking for a laugh, which you have most definitely got.
Personally, I don't know a great deal about this game. As you correctly stated I have a shiny new CPL and I'm just getting started on the long road to where I want to go. The difference between you and me is that I'll do pretty much anything (within reason) to get where I want to go, even if it does involve *shock horror* flying sh*tty old pistons. Bring it on!!!

G'day 429 CJ,
Exam session was a tad painful but I think we got through the majority of subjects. However, there is a good possibility that many of us will be revisiting the AGK exam at some point in the future.
Feel free to drop either of us an email if you want some tips.
Finally the time has come to head out into the real world. All we have to do is find someone who is willing enough to let us lose in their shiny 182 or 206 or whatever.
Have a good one, Dave.

Re: The_Hun
Wizofoz and anyone else. Wiz, you sound like an incredibly nice bloke/chick. By the tone of your post it is quite obvious that The_Hun annoys you, just as much as he/she annoys the rest of us. However, with the utmost respect to you, please don't give The_Hun any more of your valuable advice. Please let him/her believe that the money that daddy has given him/her to get his/her Citation endorsement and ICUS will get him/her somewhere. As long as he/she ingnores our valuable advice, this will serve to inject more money into our beloved GA industry from more young, nieve yuppies like him/her. I propose from now on to just lead him/her on. It'll be fun!!!.......
P.S. I know what you're all saying.....but irony is my specialty....as well as sliding down the ILS like a pro.....H.

G'day 429, as Dave has said, the 3 days were extremely painful (as were the next few nights ). AGK was definitely the tough one and it's going to be very marginal - Dave probably smashed it though (bit of a guru).
Glad to hear you're keeping your ear to the ground for me, although at this stage I think I'm going to concentrate on getting a decent amount of funds put aside before making the trek - who knows how it'll turn out though.
Take it easy...
Cheers,
TL

Personally I think the Hun is a wind up but if he or she isn't, I think that they would make an excellent addition to the Qantas team. We need more people to empty out the crappers on the aircraft- with apologies to the guys and girls who do a fantastic job at that tough work already. I'm sorry that I associated Hun with your profession.
What a w@nk!

To answer the original question....
QANTAS take as many cadets as they plan to hire in two years time. This is based upon predicted recruitment required in two years and is subject to change. Hope this is of help.

just been reading your interesting conversation about cadets....i know this is slightly off on a tangent, but perhaps relevant...here in the uk, ba cadets who had been accepted to start their training courses where told within a week of sep 11, that they would not, and that cadetships were cancelled until further notice....can you imagine going through the whole selection procedure etc etc, being accepted and then weeks/months before starting being told...sorry, no and dont call us, we'll call you.
it seems that the general consensus is that cadetships will not happen for a good few years here....bad times for us all!

HBP,
I asked my wife if you were right about me being a nice bloke, she pleaded the fifth!!!
Good advice. Hun is either a (very well done!) wind up, or a snotty little pratt not worth the effort.
