BSB,

I heard the DB has had his final interview and sim ride and has been accepted full time at 7-11.

Also, is there any truth to the rumour that Air Centre One will be operating a Metro on RPT to YLTV??

Cheers....

Cool

Hey Hun,

Have you finished your Ab initio in the G4 yet? You must be due to start your navs in the BAE 146 by now..........................H.

I don't appreciate your cynical and condescending attitude towards my career endeavours. I have not yet applied to any companies which operate G4s and/or Bae146's and I don't believe I will be eligible for one of these jobs for at least one year.

Please keep the discussion serious on this forum...

Hun,. . If I ever find out who you are I'll personally biff you one, two if your lucky! You are an absolute fool who should be banished. Every post I have seen from you is nothing short of verbal diahorrea. Get a brain and some common sense before deeming yourself worthy of posting here again. If you keep up your pathetic attitude people will make sure you never even step foot inside a flight deck of any size, shape or description, take your own advise keep it serious! If you even know who DB actually is you know that he's a decent bloke and done very well for himself in this industry, and good luck to him. Hey maybe we'll see you in the local 7-11, cos thats the only place you'll ever meet the minimum requirements! ***Claws: Retract***

That aside if you actually read the above post you would note that neither operator currently has turbines on their respective AOC's, although there are whispers about turbines one would imagine that they would be for charter initially. I don't think that either company is ready for RPT on any scale, facilities being the major problem. I would love it if they had a kingair but at the moment they do not, pay a visit and you'll find out what they can and can't fly.

PS H good reply!

PPS Hun - Enjoy the Microsoft Simulator, me thinks thats as close as you ever get to flying big tin!! SOME people actually fly REAL planes around here, obviously you're NOT one of them!! Of further note, you have listed in your profile that you hold a SPL, what do you fly as the holder of that license?? Moreover who wrote that license.... Daddy?? or didja find it in a packet of Cornies??

Edited to allow further comments after consideration!

Cheers sideslip.

NZL is at MJB. There was a 146 thread not long ago, but I couldn't find it to see if these two had been mentioned at MEB.

Big sky base,. . I don't think Qantas would approve of such behaviour and threats of violence are unnecessary. Im sure this pre-disposition of yours will become evident in your psych test and maybe it will be you that will be striken to the ill fated 7/11. Can anyone please confirm the extent of twin engine aircraft that will eventually be available?

Hun,. . I'm not going to be drawn into further bikering with you, the last was brought about by the very low and un called for comments re DB.

However the combined twin fleets as far as I'm aware will stand at:

1x PA44. .2x P68. .1x AC56. .1x BE76 (Unconfirmed as to weather Pearson still have this aircraft online)

Of course they have on request access to further types the current ones at Wings being:. .PA31. .C310. .C340. .BE55/58

Hope that helps

BSB, G'day mate.

I am only aware of one P68, ZWJ. The PA44 Seminole will be available about early March. Also an AC 685 has been with PA for a while although probably only for Charter and a select one or two PIC's (ie. GP). Also, a PA23-250 Aztec. The BE 76 Duchess has been a back again/off again situation for the last six months. I don't see it coming back but if it does, it will probably be even more expensive than before. I don't see any of them being used too much, especially for private hire. They're all probably going to be unreasonably priced (expensive) and definately all on VDO! ..............................H.

Also, the other day I was told that VH-ILL (the C150) is only as cheap as it is because the instructors have to take a pay cut of $10 per hour to instruct in it! Can anyone confirm this? This definately can't be good for morale. Especially if the management still get their usual cut of the deal. I mean, VH-ILL is aparently quite a good little machine and uses a whole 5-7 litres per hour less than the C152's. That's a saving for the management of 5-7 dollars per hour already, so why should the instructors prostitute themselves like this? Usual GA "little guy gets ripped off" story while the big "GUY" sits back and giggles.

The rumor is that funds are currently tied up whith the aquisition of a MU2 which is to be put on the VH register and to be used for aerial surveying and advanced IFR training. Whilst waiting for delivery they are still finalising paperwork. Just a question- the last few 74 captains I have talked to have mentioned that I should get my tail wheel endorsement, which would be the better A.C, a Citabria or a Cub, I hear that the Citabria is very easy to fly and should only take 2hrs for a good pilot to get endorsed?

Highbypass,

Break down the hourly rate of any aircrafts dual price and you will probably find that after factoring in X amount of $$ for his/herself (which is perfectly justified) the operator/owner has added approximately $50/hr for the instructor. Funny (not) how the lowly instructor is lucky to see $20 of this. There are very few flying school owners that don't rip off the instructors. And for all the bleeding hearts please note that I did say "very few".

I reckon it's one of the biggest rorts in aviation. Check it out if you can. You'll be very unpleasantly surprised.

... if you can fly a SuperCub well .. then you can fly just about anything .... just practise some pressups before you get onto full flap missed approaches ...... the greatest little toy ever built, I reckon .... especially after the glider releases ....

in this day of not many taildraggers, the purpose in doing the exercise is to learn some quite different (but very useful) skills which largely transfer to the nosewheel types .. there is no point in spending money on the easier Type, surely ... and you will find the Cub a delight .. after the first few terrors ... especially if it is your initial taildragger .... have fun ...

Hun and HB,. . Yes, merger has been put back, No Reason Given (at least to me). Hun doubt the MU2 purchase, the only one I know of at EN was still N reg at last check, and staying that way.

Citabria is easy enough to fly, the only TW aircraft online at either school. And FYI min endorsment time is 5hrs and you'll find the average is about 7ish.

Hun,. . I can live with wind ups, however I can't tolerate personal sledging, as you did earlier and hence the outburst.

The_ Hun. .I have over the years, often heard people talking about learning to fly tailwheel aircraft and getting the wrong answers. It is in my opinion totaly unrealistic to think anyone can be signed off as competant after only 2 hours.

My advise to you is to seek out those experienced pilots that reside at tyabb and have a quiet word over a beer or two and you will soon learn of all the hidden pitfalls you are about to encounter.

There are quite a few good books available on the subject and you would do well to get one and read it from cover to cover before you do any training.

I always say that if you want some meat go to a butcher and if you want to learn to fly a taildrager aircraft seek out an expert not someone that dabbles in it now and then when the odd student comes along.

Good luck
