Post Passenger briefing

I have posted this in the Wannabes forum but I think I may get a better response here.. .. .So I am about to take my GFPT and will of course have to do a passenger brief for the first time. I've usually got away with just saying that the instructor should consider himself briefed. I was wondering if anyone has ever come across anything on the web that would be useful for a ground briefing on a C152 and can you point me to it?

Yep, the CAO's at www.casa.gov.au. .Cover what they say and you're home and hosed.

Actually I was looking for something a bit flashier than just something to cover the legal requirements. Trying to put on a good show you might say. I'm sure the CFI has been through this so many times it would be nice to see something a bit different and with a bit more thought. The idea was also to end up with something I could use into the future but it looks as though if it's to be, then I will have to do it myself..... .. .I wonder what I will be able to find in clipart????

On a certain flight the other night from point C in the tropics to point D in the tropics, the cabin service manager:-. .. .Good evening ladies and gentleman welcome aboard flight ******* from **** to ******, On the flight deck is Princess Leah and her First Officer Luke Skywalker in the cabin are r2d2, c3po and so on.. .. .Then during the emergency demo on the life jacket. It also has a light for attracting Barramundi..... .. .Just shows how few people listen, either that or it went straight over their head. I had a chuckle.

I was tempted by some of the examples on Jet Blast. .. . Like These . .. .But as I want to pass I decided not to give in to temptation.. .. .

Cool

gunner b 1 2.. . . .
quote:
So I am about to take my GFPT and will of course have to do a passenger brief for the first time. Your Instructor should be shot!. .. .For every dual flight after your first area solo you instructor should have demanded an attempt at a pax brief, because the first time you do it you will definately stuff it up. This is not what the CFI/ ATO is wanting to see, and it doesn't do much for your confidence either when you stuff it up. Better do some fast learning!!! Good Luck...

Turbine. .. .Wasn't getting sulky, I just realised that I would probably stand a better chance of getting a reply here and didn't know how to delete the other. Then I thought what the heck let them both stand.. .. . BelowTenThousand . .. .It's not that I haven't attempted them, I have but I am trying to do the job properly and wanted to make the effort as an aide to learning, a project if you will.. .. .I don't believe the presentation (I have entertained audiences of 2,000+ people in the past) or, in view of the fact that we are talking about a C152, the content will be a problem. I simply want to do the job well, I thought that was the idea of it.. .. .But to all thanks for the suggestions.

Gunner,. .. .When I first had to do pax briefs my instructor taught me to use a numonic so that I didn't forget anything, for example:. .. .S - Seat belts. .E - Emergency Exits. .S - Smoking, or none of it. .C - Comfort ie Sick Sacks, Fresh air vents etc . .. .As you did your pax brief you'd quickly say to yourself "Sesc" and it would all come back to you and you could rattle it off as though you've been doing it for years. . .. .It may not come across as being that professional but as long as you say it with confidence it'll always sound good.. .. ."Good Luck" with your GFPT

I got this from page 173 of the 2001 version of the VFG.. .. .A typical passenger briefing on a private flight could go something like this. .. .“The law requires that you refrain from smoking on the tarmac and in the terminal. .as well as during take-off, landing, and refuelling.. .. .Your seatbelts are similar to your car’s and I would ask you to keep them fastened. .comfortably during take-off, landing and any other time I feel it is necessary for. .your safety.. .. .The exits operate like this… and will only be opened on the ground.. .. .Please stow your hand luggage under the seat or I can secure it in the baggage. .compartment.. .. .If you feel uncomfortable in any way, please let me know and I’ll do everything I can. .to improve the situation.”. .. .Passenger briefings such as this can instill confidence in your passengers and start the. .flight off well.

Time Bomb Ted,. .. .I think you've hit the nail on the head for Gunner B 1 2 with the VFG extract and of course, anyone who advised him to check out CAO's is correct too but Turbine's advice is a bit over-the-top.........it is a C152 with him and the CFI on a GFPT flight; no point in going into a laboured diatribe about turbulence, interesting land marks enroute (he's only doing a circle!)and flight time, weather etc etc....and where does it say in the CAOs not to call the emergency exits by that name, or that "in the event of an emergency" should be referred to as the "very unlikely event of an emergency"? Turbine must have a special version we haven't seen as yet!!?. .. .Gunner B 1 2; just keep it simple, to the point and iaw the CAO's and you can't go wrong!. .Good luck and safe flying!

Wink

Most people don't listen ,of those listening a few don't understand. .of those that do understand a few . .will forget. That generally leaves one or two people who would probably manage okay anyway.. .. .If a test were to be given after a pax briefing how many do you think would pass ?

"The emergency exits are located here, here and here (pointing) and if you are still unable to locate them when needed, just follow the crew, if you can keep up with them"
