Twice In A Life Time Event
Following was sent to me today and I thought I would share it with you all. [quote]8.02 pm on February 20 , that’s today in Australia, 2002, will be an historic moment in time. At that precise time, on that specific date, something will happen which has not occurred for 1,001 years and will never happen again. As the clock ticks over from 8.01pm on Wednesday, February 20, time will, for sixty seconds only, read in perfect symmetry 2002, 2002, 2002, or to be more precise - 20:02, 20/02, 2002. It is an event that has only ever happened once before, and is something which will never be repeated. The last occasion that time read in such a symmetrical pattern was long before the days of the digital watch and the 24-hour clock - at 10.01am on January 10, 1001. And because the clock only goes up to 23.59, it is something that will never happen again.

Well, as I'm always telling the yanks, everything is back to front so they would just have to learn to adjust to a normal date/time concept like the rest of the world

.......REALLY???? (If your's and HA's interpretation of the statement is to be read the way you both indicate).

It has to do with the definition of the word "Palindrome" (Spelling?? - I think Woomera is on to the word). Some of the examples above may not, by definition, be "Palindromic".
However, more importantly is nasa's claim to unique longevity!
To quote nasa: “In A LIFE Time Event”
A life spanning 1,001 years?
I thought only Woomera could claim the Methusela Syndrome!

nasa,
Your original post only specified symmetry, and did not specify the need for symmetry broken at 2 places (4 figure groups). Symmetry can also be achieved about 1 point (2x6) solving Miss B's problem of the *anks (*insert letter of choice), & allowing many other combinations?
JP. .(Thanks for the tip on drinkies MB )
