Posting images/pics

Please can someone explain why, when I try to post these two images, one produces the picture

and the other remains a link?

Both come from the same web page and the address is correct because the link works.

Question

Could be the ampersand (&) in the middle of the URL confusing the BB software.

What do you mean they both work for you?
One pic appears in the post. To see the second pic you have to use the link?

In many servers/ISPs one has to be very careful with case when you type the URL. UNIX/Linux systems that I know about distinguish between upper and lower case. A very large proportion of web servers run UNIX/Linux.

I keep forgetting this and have trouble from time to time.

Like this one you mean?

BB cannot parse the ampersand (&), so you need to change it to the CHR code, prefixed by %.

So that link should be:

.....grosset.co.uk/Travel%20Writing/Australia/images/must-%26cattle3.JPG

(I had to change the first bit to dots so I could display the text and not the picture)

HTH

seacue if that was the problem the link would fail.

Thumbs up

rustle You're a genius.

The law's a doddle compared with the intricacies of computer language.

Thanks.

Thanks for your input. You were obviously on the right track - but I'd never have worked out the solution.

'Funny' symbols in a URL are always a problem. I don't know why people insist on using them. Like 36 other characters aren't enough ?

Oooh, just noticed lots of new smilies over there <----
