Question Emoticons

Hey Guys,

AOL is my ISP. If I paste an animated gif anywhere in the text of an e-mail it doesnt work. That is it doesn't animate. It just freezes at the start of the animation sequence. Am I doing something wrong or is it AOL?? And how do you paste stuff onto here??

Thanks
Onya

Normally, an Emoticon is an animated graphic generated from a Web site and that site has to be on line for the thing to work. This is distinct from a ".gif" file, which is self contained.

If you are on-line and the URL from which the Emoticon is retrieved is active, I can't see why the Emoticon wouldn't work.

I have to save animations/smilies etc onto my hard drive BEFORE inserting them from my file into my emails [usually as a Gif]. Then they will work on or off line, for you or the mail recipient.

Note: The only proviso is that the email needs to be in HTML format.
