Strange place names appearing in google earth

In the last week or so I've been starting to get strange crylic type place names attached to pins in google earth. I didn't put them there.



Normally to make a pin appear you have to click on the tool bar and enter what you want in the label field. Ive tried going through all sorts of settings to get rid of them, but deselecting place names or wiki icons gets rid of everything.

Ideas anyone?

Well at least it’s Cyrillic for “Cragieburn”; the correct road name! Try deleting the app and re-installing it?

Perhaps you drive fast and so Google thinks you're rushin.

Or a VPN is routing through a Russian speaking country.

Same location, no cyrillic text.
Also the scale is shown in metres not feet on my screen.
I suggest you chase up settings which can be changed?
