Blue screen
Went to switch the computer off last night after watching a bit of telly and was met with this ....
I scanned the SQ code with my phone and it took me here .....
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...2-3f73142c14ad
Which asked "When Did You Get The Error?" "after an update is installed" or "whilst using the device"
I wasn't expecting an update, but it would seem that's what I got last night, out of the blue, so to speak . After it had gathered the data, it shut down and rebooted and again, several times . It took a very long time, but it did eventually sort itself out and restart to the desktop and it appears to working normally .

Always beware of the monthly update usually the 2nd Tuesday/Wednesday of each month. I pause updates for at least 2 weeks after they are planned, using the "Pause updates" option on the "windows update" screen, because often the planned update is not tested properly and affects some other programs. After a couple of weeks any problems caused are usually flagged up and sorted. Also worth creating a restore point a day or two before any planned update so if you do experience a problem you can go back.

I went in to check my restore point and it wouldn't let me turn on system protection.
