Photo CD software
I'm looking for recommendations on software to put piccies on CD.
Since my missus bought a digital camera, we've got shedloads of piccies, and they're either on the PC at home or the FotoTime web site, which we use to publish them.
We want to put them on CDs, and the software requirements are :
1. Easy to use - both creating and viewing the CD.
2. Price competitive - if not free, then not a professional product either.
Any ideas ?

For years I used IP Photo Plus....and was very happy with it until I tried to reduce the size of jpg.s to send over the net- hotmail has a size limit you can send at one time.
When I purchased my Epson 880 last year, It cam with AdobePhotoshop and some other nifty software.
Now I find Adobe to be far surperior than IP Photo Plus....especially in that the colors printed are more like on the screen......
All in all though, now instead of printing up pixs on the pc I just edit them and send them to an online service for printing, and they come via first class mail in two days. I think the cost of color ink and photo paper for your printer are very similar to having an outside source do it.
Any of the downware sites like www.tucows.com, www.download.com, or www.zdnet have tons of organizing software.
As for a viewer, I still use a program called Seaview. While Dos based, it runs well under windows and is much faster loading than most other window programs....loading of the pictures, not the viewing program......

I'll add my vote to Easy CD creator, there have been compatibility problems with XP but there is a patch out for the latest version.
The nice thing about it is you can 'Format' the CD and drag and drop to it like a floppy, erase stuff, or move stuff between folders.
If you have a CD burner though I would be supprised if you don't already have some software that will allow you to burn files to disk.
As for viewing afterwards I can't recommend Irfan View highly enough. You can manipulate images with it, crop, adjust colours etc and you can covert image files from one type to another etc.etc.
It's a small download and completely free.

I have been using ACDSee for that for quite a while now and am very pleased with it.
Lets you do anything, creates thumbnails if you want, and very user friendly in dragging,dropping, adjusting, resizing and anything else you can think of

Have a look in www.dpreview.net/. It is a very good site for digital photography. look in the forums and try a search. This subject has had a lot of comment.

I'm with spanners on this - another thread in danger of charging off topic.
Also recommend Easy CD creator ver 5/Platinum. Creating CDs is easy whether they are write or re-write. I keep all my piccies on CD where they are stored for good and are easily viewable with any viewing software. Windows Me (and probably XP too?) will display pictures using explorer/my computer individually or as a slide show from any directory and/or from CD.
Easy CD creator, as mentioned, will also put your selected pictures together on a CD, add background music if you wish and save it all as a self displaying slide show. This can then be played on any PC whether it has adaptec or not - great for sending to friends and rellies.
