Netscape v IE & ValueClick
When browsing PPRuNe using Netscape, the task bar indicates information being sent to or downloaded from valueclick.com. When browsing PPRuNe using IE6 I never nnotice a similar message.
My questions:
Thanks in advance.
My questions:
- Does Netscape 6.2 (as downloaded from the net) come bundled with software that reports my viewing back to some party, such as valueclick?
- If then answer to Q1 is yes, can the reporting be turned off?
- Does IE6 do similar stuff?
Thanks in advance.

CC,
Valueclick are the company that produces the ads at the bottom of each page while we provide the ones at the top. The server has to go off site and pull them up after refering to where in the world you are logging in from. For example: When I log in through my French ISP I get French language ads.
As we bring a new administrator on line it should free Danny and I up enough to bring the bottom line ads in house, allow them to be very cheap and forum specific and ensure we never again get any of the noisy annoying ones.
