Bittorrent client to aid throughput testing
I usually have no need for (or even interest in) a bittorrent client but after a change of ISP that has not been without its challenges I wish to stress-test my internet connection download performance further than running a speed test.
I run a wired LAN at home so an obvious way to do this is by setting multiple bittorrent downloads running - say of Linux ISO files - and seeing what maximum sustained download throughput I reach.
So, recommendations please for a free bittorrent client that I can use without fear of hidden payload. Every one that I have tried so far has had Symantec Endpoint Protection going in to meltdown on installation with everything from Open Candy adware payload to Things More Sinister. Yes, I can mitigate matters by running as the non-admin account that I normally use and by taking a system image beforehand that I revert to immediately after but I'd rather not have to do this.
The PC is running Windows 10 64bit.

I've always used the original client from BitTorrent
No problems yet, but I've never subjected the software to a very exhaustive scan. Just untick any additional packages offered, if any.

I've always used µtorrent (google it as utorrent) but I expect most of them will cause some defences to get tetchy. You could do something like https://www.wetransfer.com/ and set yourself up with two or more accounts and send big files to yourself? Maybe with two computers on your network.
In case you don't know of it wetransfer is a very handy way of sending big files that would break email mailbox size limits.

Since I have no need for a bittorrent client after my test I will try your suggestion, boguing. I'll start with one userid and download to see how many further downloads I am going to need in order to flood my connection and then decide whether to proceed with it.

A quick post to round off the thread in case of benefit to Others at a later date.
Thinking about it since my reply above, I wondered if Open Candy adware might only be used to serve up options for "we recommend you also install..." during the installation process itself. Having first taken a fresh system image I therefore decided to try running the client I had already downloaded from bittorrent.com - the only Symantec message this one triggered being Open Candy - but this time with the ethernet cable unplugged from my PC during the installation process.
Bingo.
No Open Candy adware warning - and carefully searching the PC including registry finds no trace of it either. Ditto after reconnecting the network and successfully using the Bittorrent client to stress my internet connection.
Out of interest I tried the same technique with µbittorent (though I aborted installation as I didn't need it having already installed Bittorrent) and found that the Open Candy warning didn't arise here either. Open Candy therefore appears to only apply during installation and operate via a server.
Happy Chappie, especially as I proved to myself that my advertised low contention internet service is finally low contention.
