"Windows Installer could not be located"
Help please.
I get this message any time I try to do updates. I am operating Windows 7 Pro and I have the installation CD. I have tried to run the disc in a repair mode but it doesn't seem to have one. Internet Options doesn't work, simply doesn't come up/open. A message about inetcpl.dll crops up every time I close the browser, tried to uninstall IE11 and re-install but it tells me, after the uninstall, that IE11 is already installed, sure enough, it is! Just doesn't work correctly some times. Have most files backed up on an external HDD and considered a clean install but would much prefer to repair if possible. Any ideas gratefully accepted!
