Outlook 2010

For anyone who like me uses Outlook 2010 with Windows 10 and finds that all their settings have suddenly been fouled up, it would seem that this has been caused by Windows update KB 3114409. Uninstalling this particular update appears to restore your preferences.

Outlook Upset

After updating, my favourites and the folders were all messed up. Once the computer was rebooted, everything returned to normal

I got a new PC, and installed Windows 10 on it.

I got my outlook working fine, but when I went to look at Mail on my iPad, my inbox was empty!
Thousands of emails had gone!

I'm sure the new Outlook snaffled them somehow- because these same emails are in the new Outlook inbox on the new PC.

Thing is, I need them on the iPad too- and they have gone!

How can I refill the inbox on my iPad, and keep a normal copy there?

If your Outlook is set up to access via IMAP, then that shouldn't happen. If it is using POP access, however, then that would download emails to the local folder, and another machine (such as the ipad) would no longer see the messages. It's one possibility, anyway.

Here's a useful link:

IMAP vs POP3

I think you are onto it, as I set up the new outlook on the PC as POP3.

I'm just surprised that all the emails stored on the iPad- going back to 2012- have vanished!

I'll set up a new email account using imap, on the PC.
