Freesat Receiver

My DS186 HD freesat satellite receiver has an Ethernet 10/100BT port (fully integrated IEEE 802.3/802.3u 10/100 base..etc etc) and I can bring up the appropriate display from the satellite receiver on the TV for DHCP, subnet mask, ip address, DNS server etc.

However, the instruction manual says the Ethernet port is for "future use".

I'm wondering what (if anything) will happen if I connect this to my router's Ethernet port....anyone ?
