Been running it for several weeks now, no issues with it at all. And yes it does support the Shockwave Flash plugin, as does V4.

I clicked on Help / About etc., and without any by-your-leave, got v5. Okay, I thought it might cure the one gripe I have with FF in the last few weeks. But it didn't.
The menu Files through to Help suddenly went a dirty grey with small black writing. Can't see it in the bright room I'm in.

Loose rivets, might it have something to do with personas you are using?
My problem was that Google maps wouldn't load properly anymore, i.e. stalled when loading. Google has is that Skype causes this but I found "Adblock Plus" to be the culprit. Deactivated it, restarted FF 5, then activated it again, no problems since.

No probs here so far, google maps worked ok. Fast Dial didn't work but found a beta version which is working fine.
Also noticed everything seems much faster.

try this link for Daily Dilbert
I'm finding it better than the previous version. Two things with the last version were it no loading pictures on some web sites (have no idea why I just used Chrome to open those sites instead). Also it tended to freeze for no particular reason.
Seems to be working OK so far - that said I've cut the number of add ons I use to a minimum anyway which may be helping things along.

Tried everything I can think of, including the tips above. Same
It's like a dirty strip of primitive photocopy paper: Tiny black writing on a smudged dark grey background.
All the pop-downs work, from File to Help. Still showing V 5.0

I think my original post was slightly ambiguous. What I meant was when running FF4 sites with a youtube screen to play a video, display..... "a plugin is required click here to download" the download never works, even using the manual download option.
Same with other live streaming screens sites. I do have an Adobe active X so I guess this kicks in when using IE9 or maybe I'm wrong in that assumption.

Loose rivets, have you got a black or dark screen behind Firefox? If so try having a light picture behind it or turn off Aero.

Aeros? On W7, I spend all my time repairing them, Vista, never seen them.
Tried full range of zoom and some strange Adobe Gamma that seems to be in control of the monitor. No other useful thing in Control panel.
The grey strip is sitting atop the blue background menus. Just checked the Rivetess' FF 3 point something, and the menu strip is part of the blue, with just the - smallerize and X on its own line - just as it's always been. Mine is pushing everything down one line and has its own short strip of grey. It definitely only occurred with V 5 installing itself.
Oh, FF'S sake! Now that menu is in a little orange box marked Firefox. To get the items, one has to make it pop down the list. Bookmarks is now on the bookmark toolbar.
I have no idea what's going on. Time for a reset perhaps.

Edit. Just noticed, an Add on I love, one that fills in boxes for you, (IT LEAVES LITTLE BLUE ARROWS TO START PROMPTS) It is still there. Again, just as though I did not kill the FF5 in the uninstall because I know for sure this handy add on program has to be re introduced if not on a formal upgrade of FF.
Played with settings for a while, ended up with taskbar popping up for fractions of a second, just like a screen failure. Just managed to see the Start button. Set it to stay put, and that was okay.
Restored to several days ago - it cured that bizarre fault.
FF just the same!! with the Bookmarks on the desktop just as though I'd not restored.
Killed the v5 FF via programs and features. Reloaded from net via Explorer.
Just the same. Oh, my.
I've no doubt it would be possible to manipulate 5 to look the same as 4, but an hour or more of footling has produced nothing but glitches. Wife's Vista proves my memory is accurate.
I did aim for loading 4, but it lied. Picked 4, and got 5. Oh, my X 2.
What is odd is that I did not have to recover my bookmarks. All there just as though I'd never uninstalled FF.
In all respects, now I've gone back to c 19th of June, FF5 is operating normally except for this confounded File through Help menu. My Bookmarks on the top are on the same line as the back arrow etc.
I guess a copy of 4 would be proof of the pudding. But why me? Can't be how others are seeing it, it's just not good enough to read clearly.
