Incorrect HD Size under WIN7
Hi Again Folks
Before we start its's not the standard whinge about binary vs commercial labelling!!
I just built a new computer running Win7Pro64bit and installed my old Maxtor 8.5gb HD as a spare/backup drive. System has 2 WD 500GB SATA drives as well but the Maxtor is a PATA drive with std IDE connection. On boot bios sees the Maxtor correctly but in windows the drive shows up as 1.96GB ?
I have reformatted and run F Disk to no avail - any suggestions ???
Thanks

Go to: control panel>Administrative tools>computer management>storage>disc management this will show you how it thinks the drive is configured, it may be that it thinks its only got a small partition on it and the rest is un-allocated.
You can resize partitions etc from there as well
